A design/build solution for the 18 foot square play area of a combination retail store and children’s play space.

The client’s wanted the play area to resemble a small city street reminiscent in character to the set of television’s Sesame Street.

The two-story play structure, surfaced in a heavily textured and painted surface gives the feel of a turn-of the century New York street corner. The play area is enclosed and set off from the store’s retail area, by a low and more contemporarily articulated wall containing a bench for parents as well as ample shelf space for toys.
