POLARIS is currently shortlisted as a finalist for the 2018 Tapestry Design Prize for Architects. If selected, this original design, created with digital embroidery will be translated into an architecturally scaled woven tapestry by the Australian Tapestry Workshop, and potentially hung in the MONA museum in Tasmania, Australia. Final awards to be announced late summer 2018.

Viewers who move around POLARIS activate subtle reflections from differently hatched angles of thread – tricking eyes and brains into reconciling the tension between its two-dimensional graphic surface, and its ilusionistic isometric topology.

A series of editioned stitched paintings of the work will be available in varying sizes by late fall 2018.
